I recently received some textured glass in my scrap bin that I collect on a regular basis from Alpine Glass Service in Portland, OR. I have found that this glass does not mix well with the other scrap-glass that I receive, however, it does fuse well to itself. I cut and layered two rounds of this beautiful textured glass and fused them over a drop-ring mold to create the candle-holder that you see below.
I will be at the Dennis 7Dee’s Holiday Bazaar & Craft Fair this upcoming weekend–Saturday @ SE Powell Blvd. in Portland & Sunday in Lake Oswego. Vendors will be donating a portion of their sales to the Foster Powell Community Garden and the Rogerson Clematis Collection. This is my only show in the month of November–come see me!
Thanks to all who came out to support Leach Botanical Gardens at the Holiday Bazaar this weekend, and for simultaneously supporting some of us local artists, craters and makers! I was impressed with the kindness and support shown by the many volunteers & staff of the gardens, and as always, I enjoyed being in a roomful of creative people!
